Four things to get right before you upload

Write the title exactly as you want it printed
Store pages show the cover at about 300 pixels wide, so anything past four or five words stops being readable. Keep it short.

Set the size to 3000 by 3000
This is the one setting distributors care about. Apple Music rejects new releases below it and every other store accepts it.

Keep the blur under 4
Heavier blur reads as a corrupt file to a human reviewer, which is the most common rejection we hear about.

Download as JPG and upload it
JPG at 3000 pixels lands around 1 to 2 MB, comfortably under every upload limit.

Why brat style artwork gets rejected, and how to avoid it
The aesthetic is deliberately crude, and automated checks plus human reviewers are trained to catch exactly that. Four rules keep you clear.
Blur is a style to you and a defect to a reviewer
Somebody looking at hundreds of covers a shift cannot tell your artistic choice from a file that got mangled in upload. Keep the slider at 4 or below for anything commercial. The main generator is where to go wild.
No store names, no URLs, no social handles
Writing "out now on Spotify" or your Instagram handle across the cover is an instant reject almost everywhere. Stores do not allow artwork that advertises other services or drives traffic off platform.
Do not reuse the album title
A square of #8ACE00 with the word "brat" on it, uploaded as your own release, is asking for a trademark complaint. Put your own title on it.
Check it at thumbnail size
Shrink the preview in your browser until it is about the size of a postage stamp. If you cannot read it there, listeners scrolling a playlist will not either.

Album cover questions
What size should a brat album cover be?
3000 by 3000 pixels if it is going to a distributor. Apple Music will not take anything smaller for a new release, and every other store is happy with it. For a playlist cover or a post, 1500 is plenty.
Will my blurred cover get rejected by Apple Music or Spotify?
It can. Reviewers reject artwork they read as blurry or low resolution, and a heavy blur setting looks exactly like that to someone checking 400 covers an hour. Export at 3000 pixels and keep the blur under about 4, and it reads as a deliberate style rather than a bad file.
Can I upload this as artwork for my own song?
Your own words on a coloured square are yours to release. Copying the album title, the tracklist or the exact trade dress of a released record is where you run into trouble. The copyright notice covers the line.
PNG or JPG for a music release?
Most distributors take both. JPG is smaller and every store accepts it, so pick JPG unless you need a transparent background. Spotify caps playlist cover uploads at 4 MB, which a 3000 pixel PNG can exceed.
Why does my 3000 pixel download fail on my phone?
A 3000 by 3000 canvas needs about 36 MB of memory, and older phones run out. Try 2000 instead, or make it on a laptop. Nothing is lost: the design is stored in your browser, so the same page on another device with the shared link gives you the same cover.
Do I need to credit this site?
No. Use what you make however you like. A link back is nice but nobody is checking.
