Cookie policy
We use Google Analytics to count page views, and it sets a cookie. That is the only non-essential cookie on the site. There is no advertising, no remarketing and no profile built about you.
Analytics cookies
Google Analytics 4 tells us how many people visit, which tools they use, and which pages send them away again. That is what decides which parts of this site get improved. It does not tell us who you are, and it never sees what you type into a generator.

Both are first-party cookies, meaning they are set on bratgenerator.art rather than by an outside domain. We have IP anonymisation switched on, and advertising features, remarketing and Google Signals are all off.
Whether you see a banner, and why
This site uses Google Consent Mode. In the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics storage starts denied, so no analytics cookie is written at all until you choose Allow. Everywhere else it starts granted, and the banner is how you turn it off.
Either way the banner appears once, your answer is remembered on your own device, and the question is not asked again. Choosing No thanks means Google's tag records nothing and sets nothing.
Changing your mind
Your choice lives in your browser's local storage under brat:consent. Clearing site
data for bratgenerator.art in your browser settings forgets it, and the banner comes back on your
next visit so you can answer differently.
Browser-level tracking protection, an ad blocker, or Global Privacy Control will also stop the tag loading. Nothing on this site tries to work around those, and the generator behaves identically either way.
Cookies our host may set
This site is served through Cloudflare. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie,
usually named __cf_bm, to tell human visitors apart from automated traffic and to
protect the site from abuse. It carries no advertising identifier, expires within about half an
hour, and we cannot read it.
Under EU and UK rules, strictly necessary cookies of this kind do not require consent, which is why the banner does not cover it. Cloudflare's own explanation is in its cookie documentation.
Local storage, which is not a cookie
The generator remembers your last settings using your browser's local storage. It holds your text, colours, blur, stretch, alignment and font so the tool looks familiar when you return.
The difference that matters: cookies are attached to every request your browser sends, so a server can read them. Local storage is not. It stays on your device and is never transmitted, so we could not see it even if we wanted to. Your cover text is stored this way, which is why analytics never touches it.
Each tool page uses its own storage slot, which is why the album cover page can keep different settings from the main generator.
Clearing it
- Press Start over in the generator to reset that tool's saved settings.
- Clear site data for bratgenerator.art in your browser settings to remove everything at once, cookies and local storage together.
- Use a private or incognito window, which discards both when you close it.
Blocking all of it is fine. The generator still works, it simply forgets your settings between visits.
What we will not add
No advertising cookies, no remarketing tags, no social media pixels, no session recording and no heatmaps. If that ever changes, this page will list it and the banner will ask before anything is set, rather than the change appearing quietly.
