The blank generator is a lot of sliders to face on a Tuesday. Pick a look here instead. It opens in the main tool with everything already set, and you only have to change the words.
How these work
Every template is just a link with the settings packed into the end of the address. Opening one loads those settings into the generator. Nothing is downloaded and no template file exists anywhere.
It works the other way round too. Build something you like in the generator, press Copy a link to this design, and send it to a friend. They open it and get your exact cover, ready to edit. That is also how you keep a design across two devices without an account.
Making a template your own
Change the words first and look at it before touching anything else. Most templates stop working when the text gets long, because the tool shrinks type to fit and small type plus blur turns into a smudge.
If your words are longer than about four, drop the blur by half and lower the margin. If they are shorter, you can usually push the blur higher than the template does.
For a real music release, start from the album cover tool instead. It defaults to a safer blur and offers the 3000 pixel export stores ask for.
